There are no hotels inside Arches National Park. So instead of staying inside the park itself you want to stay as near Arches National Park as you can.

The answer is the town Moab, located just south of the park. Downtown Moab offers lodging and restaurants only 5 miles (8 km) from the national park entrance. If you book a hotel in northern Moab, near Colorado River, you have as little as 3 miles (5 km) to the entrance of the park.

So if you go for accommodation in Moab, you don’t have more than 5 or 10 minutes by car to get to Arches National Park Visitor Center. Thanks to the proximity, staying in Moab is so close that it almost feels like staying inside the park.

With the short distance from Moab, you can enjoy early mornings and sunsets in the park without having to make painful and exhausting drives. Instead you can focus 100% on enjoying the beautiful nature in Arches.

But it gets even better. Arches National Park is not the only big attraction in the area. Another one of Utah’s 5 mighty national parks, Canyonlands National Park, is also located near Moab.

It’s in fact only 30 miles (52 km) from Moab to the Island in the Sky Visitor Center in Canyonlands National Park. That makes Moab a great base for where to stay when visiting Canyonlands National Park as well.

This hotel option is a great choice if you want all amenities but in a central Moab location. Even though Canyonlands Inn is located slightly further from the park, it’s still just a few miles to drive. The appreciated facilities include a pool and hot tub.
